1

Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of hosting services provided by Reconfigure Systems Ltd, trading as Reconfigure Hosting, company number 17415322 ("we", "us", "the Company") to any customer who purchases, accesses, or uses the Company’s hosting services ("you", "the Customer").

By creating an account, placing an order, or using the service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and the Acceptable Use Policy in Section 8. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2

Definitions

  • "Service" means the game server hosting, panel access, and related infrastructure provided by the Company.
  • "Order" means a purchase of a hosting plan, add-on, or service made through the Company’s website or panel.
  • "Content" means any data, files, plugins, mods, or configuration uploaded or run by the Customer on the Service.
  • "Panel" means the control panel used to manage the Service.
3

The Service

The Service provides self-service, automated hosting of game servers (currently Minecraft and Counter-Strike). The Service is provided on an "as available" basis, subject to Section 10.

The Company may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service with reasonable notice, except where immediate action is required for security, legal compliance, or protection of the Service or other customers.

4

Account Registration & Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent/legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf, to purchase the Service.
  • You must provide accurate registration and billing information and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for all activity on your account, including actions taken by anyone you grant access to your Panel or server.
5

Pricing, Billing & Payment

  • Prices are as displayed at the time of order and are billed in GBP via Stripe on a recurring monthly basis unless otherwise stated.
  • We may change prices for future billing periods with at least 30 days’ notice by email. Continued use of the Service after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
  • If a payment fails, the Service is suspended immediately. A suspended server may be permanently deleted, along with its data, if the account remains unpaid - see Section 7.
  • Chargebacks and payment disputes raised without first contacting support may result in immediate suspension of all services associated with the account, pending resolution.
6

Refunds & Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time by contacting support at [email protected]; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer partial refunds for the remainder of a billing period already paid for.

If you are a consumer in the UK, you normally have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of purchase for a full refund under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Because your server is provisioned and made available to you immediately on purchase, we ask for your explicit consent to this at checkout - by ticking the checkout agreement, you confirm you want the Service to begin immediately and acknowledge that doing so waives this 14-day right, in line with the Regulations.

Outside that 14-day window, refunds are considered case by case - contact [email protected].

7

Data & Backups

  • You are responsible for maintaining your own backups of server Content. Pelican’s built-in backup tool is available on your server, but we do not currently offer a separately managed backup service.
  • Data belonging to a cancelled or suspended-for-non-payment account is not deleted automatically. We may delete it at our discretion after a reasonable period, and will make reasonable efforts to warn you by email first - but you should not rely on data being recoverable once a subscription has ended.
8

Acceptable Use Policy

The following activities are prohibited on the Service. Violation may result in suspension or termination without refund, and, where applicable, referral to law enforcement.

8.1

Illegal or harmful content and activity

  • Hosting or distributing illegal content of any kind, including content that infringes copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights (e.g. pirated/cracked plugins, mods, or software).
  • Hosting content that is defamatory, harassing, or that facilitates fraud.
8.2

Network and platform abuse

  • Launching or participating in DDoS attacks, running IP stressers/booters, or any activity intended to disrupt other networks or services.
  • Port scanning, vulnerability scanning, or penetration testing directed at systems you do not own or have explicit written permission to test.
  • Running services unrelated to the purchased game server (e.g. unrelated web hosting, proxies, VPN endpoints, mail relays) without prior written permission.
  • Cryptocurrency mining or other sustained non-gameplay compute/resource use beyond normal server operation, unless explicitly permitted for your plan.
8.3

Fair use of resources

Resource limits (CPU, RAM, disk, bandwidth) are enforced per your purchased plan. We do not oversell CPU or RAM on any node - what you’re allocated is what’s reserved for you.

8.4

Cheating and exploit distribution

  • Distributing cheats, hacked clients, or exploits intended to circumvent anti-cheat systems on third-party servers via the Service.
9

Suspension & Termination

  • We may suspend or terminate the Service immediately, without notice, for a breach of Section 8, non-payment (per Section 5), or where required by law.
  • You may terminate at any time per Section 6.
  • On termination, the sections covering payment obligations, liability, and indemnity survive.
10

Uptime & Service Levels

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service - we don’t currently offer a paid SLA tier. Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance where practicable; emergency maintenance may occur without notice.

11

Data Protection & Privacy

We process personal data (name, email, billing information) in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, as described in our Privacy Policy.

12

Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.

Subject to the above, our total liability arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the total fees you paid us in the 3 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, loss of data (see Section 7), or loss of business, streaming revenue, or community goodwill arising from server downtime.

13

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, and costs arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of the Service, including claims arising from illegal Content you host.

14

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified to active customers by email at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

15

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
